Ingredients
- Wonton wrappers - 20 pieces
- Ground chicken - 200 grams
- Carrot, finely chopped - 50 grams
- Green onion, finely chopped - 30 grams
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Chicken broth (kosher) - 4 cups
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped carrot, green onion, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, and then pinch the edges to seal. Optionally, bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to form a shape.
- Repeat the process until all the filling is used up.
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium heat.
- Carefully add the wontons to the boiling broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the top and are cooked through.
- Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve the wontons in bowls, ladle the broth over them, and garnish with fresh cilantro.
