Ingredients
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Wonton wrappers - 6 pieces
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Beef broth - 500 ml
- Cabbage - 50 grams, finely shredded
- Carrot - 1 small, julienned
- Cilantro - a handful, for garnish
- Chili oil - for drizzle (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
- Form the beef mixture into 2 equal patties.
- In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
- Add the shredded cabbage and julienned carrot to the broth and cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- While the broth is simmering, prepare the wonton wrappers by placing a small spoonful of remaining beef mixture into the center of each wrapper. Fold and seal the wrappers, creating a small pouch.
- Gently drop the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for about 5 minutes until they float to the top.
- To serve, place one beef patty in a bowl, add some vegetables and wontons from the broth, and ladle the hot broth over the top. Garnish with cilantro and a drizzle of chili oil if desired.
