- Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
- Ginger (minced) - 1 tablespoon
- Red bell pepper (sliced) - 1 medium
- Spring onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 2 tablespoons
- Shaoxing wine (or rice wine) - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 100 ml
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Cilantro (for garnish) - a handful
Steps
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced red bell pepper and stir-fry for 2 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add the cleaned crab pieces to the wok and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the crab is heated through.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, cornstarch, and water until well combined.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the crab and vegetables in the wok, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
- Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Add chopped spring onions, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt to taste, and stir well.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
