Ingredients
- Wonton wrappers - 20 pieces
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 50 grams, finely grated
- Cabbage - 100 grams, finely shredded
- Green onions - 2 stalks, finely sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Chili oil - 3 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shiitake mushrooms, grated carrot, shredded cabbage, sliced green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper in half to create a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Then, bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to form a dumpling shape. Repeat until all the filling is used.
- Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil. Carefully drop the wontons into the boiling water and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the chili oil with a pinch of salt and additional minced garlic if desired. Drizzle this chili oil over the cooked wontons.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy your Vegetarian Wontons in Chili Oil!
