Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green peas - 100 grams
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes and toss them in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add sesame oil and sauté the minced garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced bell pepper and green peas to the pan, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until tender.
  6. Stir in the red chili flakes, soy sauce, and fried tofu cubes, mixing well to coat the tofu and vegetables.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  8. Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.
