Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Fresh ginger - 2 tablespoons, finely minced
- Scallions - 4, finely sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced ginger, garlic, and half of the scallions. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the fried tofu back to the skillet, followed by soy sauce, sesame oil, and water. Stir gently to combine and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with the remaining scallions before serving.
