Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Black pepper - 2 teaspoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Broccoli - 100 grams, cut into florets
  • Carrot - 1 medium, sliced
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cubed tofu with soy sauce, black pepper, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sauté the minced garlic and ginger for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the crispy tofu to the pan, drizzle with sesame oil, and mix gently to combine. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with rice or noodles.
