Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 100 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon (for dough)
  • Tofu - 150 grams, crumbled
  • Carrot - 1 medium, finely diced
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, finely diced
  • Green onion - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, warm water, and salt to form a dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sautéing for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the crumbled tofu, diced carrot, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir in chopped green onions and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Divide the rested dough into two equal portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a disc (about 1 cm thick).
  6. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each disc for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Once the bread is done, fill each disc with the vegetable mixture. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
