Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams

  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 2 teaspoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted

Steps

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create the dressing.
  3. In a non-stick skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat and add the tofu cubes. Cook until golden brown on all sides, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Once the tofu is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced cucumber, julienned carrot, sliced red bell pepper, chopped green onion, and chopped cilantro.
  6. Add the cooled tofu to the vegetable mixture.
  7. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine, ensuring all ingredients are well coated.
  8. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top before serving.
