  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
  • Broccoli - 100 grams, cut into florets

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  3. Add the tofu strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. After marinating, sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu strips and toss gently to coat.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu strips and cook until golden and crispy on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add sliced red bell pepper and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  7. Return the crispy tofu to the skillet, add any remaining marinade, and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
