Ingredients
- Puff pastry sheets - 2
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Carrot - 50 grams, grated
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Plant-based milk - for brushing
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then crumble it into a mixing bowl.
- Add grated carrot, chopped green onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, black pepper, and salt to the crumbled tofu and mix well until combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into squares (approximately 10x10 cm).
- Spoon a generous amount of the tofu mixture into the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over the filling to create triangles or rectangles, pressing the edges to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
- Place the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with plant-based milk to give them a golden color when baked.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
