- Water - 150 ml
- Nori seaweed - 1 sheet, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Bread (white or whole grain) - 4 slices
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2 tablespoons, chopped for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour and water, whisk until smooth.
- Add chopped nori, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix well until a thick paste forms.
- Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Spread a generous amount of the chickpea mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place the bread slices, chickpea side down, in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Flip the slices carefully and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the other side is crispy.
- Remove from the skillet and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
