Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pizza dough - 250 grams
  • Plant-based ground meat - 200 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mushrooms - 100 grams, diced
  • Carrot - 1 small, grated
  • Bok choy - 100 grams, chopped
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pizza sauce - 100 grams
  • Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh basil - a handful, for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine plant-based ground meat, chopped green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and half of the nutritional yeast. Mix well and form into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly oil it. Cook the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes, turning until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the diced mushrooms, grated carrot, and chopped bok choy. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened, then season with a little soy sauce.
  5. Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Distribute the sautéed vegetables over the sauce, then place the cooked meatballs on top.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining nutritional yeast over the entire pizza.
  9. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve hot.
