Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Lemon juice - 3 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Seaweed flakes - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into fish-like fillets.
  2. In a bowl, mix the lemon juice, soy sauce, seaweed flakes, garlic, ginger, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Marinate the tofu fillets in the lemon mixture for at least 10 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine the cornstarch and nutritional yeast. Dredge each marinated tofu fillet in the cornstarch mixture until fully coated.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry the tofu fillets for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the tofu from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and a drizzle of the remaining lemon sauce from the marinade.
