- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch, minced
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Broccoli - 100 grams, cut into florets
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 3 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, approximately 8-10 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil and sauté the minced garlic and ginger for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot to the pan, and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crisp.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, lemon juice, maple syrup, and sesame oil. Pour this sauce over the vegetables and stir well.
- Add the fried tofu back into the pan, and toss everything together to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
