Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Firm tofu - 150 grams, crumbled
  • Carrot - 1 medium, finely diced
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, finely shredded
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - for dusting

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water, knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the crumbled tofu, diced carrot, shredded cabbage, green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Divide the rested dough into small balls (about 20-25 grams each). Roll each ball into a thin circle on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  5. Bring a pot of water to boil and steam the dumplings for 15-20 minutes, or until translucent and cooked through. Alternatively, pan-fry them in a non-stick skillet with a little oil until the bottoms are golden brown, then add a few tablespoons of water, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
