Ingredients
- Wonton wrappers - 16 pieces
- Firm tofu - 150 grams, crumbled
- Carrot - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled tofu, chopped carrot, green onion, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with a little water, then fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle. Press the edges firmly to seal.
- To create a more decorative shape, take the two outer corners of the triangle and fold them toward the center, pinching to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a deep skillet or wok, heat about 2-3 centimeters of vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
- Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried wontons and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
