Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Maple syrup - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Mixed salad greens - 100 grams
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted

Steps

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 10 minutes, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, maple syrup, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. While the tofu is marinating, prepare the salad by combining the mixed salad greens, julienned carrot, sliced red bell pepper, sliced cucumber, chopped green onions, and cilantro in a large bowl.
  5. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add the marinated tofu and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.
