- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Black pepper - 2 teaspoons, freshly cracked
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green onion - 2, chopped
- Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Vegetable broth - 100 ml
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, freshly cracked black pepper, and cornstarch. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove tofu from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, grated ginger, sliced bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the vegetable broth and return the tofu to the skillet. Stir well to combine and allow to simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle chopped green onions on top before serving.
