- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Warm water - 120 ml
- Salt - 2 grams
- Olive oil - 15 ml
- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Vegan mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
- Bell pepper - 50 grams, diced
- Mushrooms - 50 grams, sliced
- Green onions - 30 grams, chopped
- Soy sauce - 10 ml
- Black pepper - 1 gram
- Dried oregano - 1 gram
Steps
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Spread a layer of tomato sauce on each dough circle, then sprinkle with vegan mozzarella cheese.
- Top with diced bell pepper, sliced mushrooms, and chopped green onions. Drizzle with soy sauce, and sprinkle black pepper and dried oregano on top.
- Fold the edges of the dough circles up to create a small bao-shaped pocket, sealing in the toppings.
- Place the baozi pizzas on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
