- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Cornstarch - 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Chopped green onions - for garnish
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, spread the cornstarch. Take each marinated tofu cube and coat it evenly with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the tofu cubes in batches, frying until they are golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the tofu puffs from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
