- Nori seaweed sheets - 2 sheets
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons for frying
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 2 fillet-shaped pieces.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the tofu fillets in the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
- While the tofu is marinating, cut the nori sheets into small strips, resembling fish scales.
- In another bowl, mix cornstarch, rice flour, and water to create a batter.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- Dip the marinated tofu fillets into the batter, then gently press the nori strips onto the surface of the tofu fillets.
- Fry the tofu fillets in the hot oil for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fillets from the pan and drain on paper towels. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
