Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Nori seaweed sheets - 2 sheets
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons for frying
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into 2 fillet-shaped pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  4. Place the tofu fillets in the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
  5. While the tofu is marinating, cut the nori sheets into small strips, resembling fish scales.
  6. In another bowl, mix cornstarch, rice flour, and water to create a batter.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
  8. Dip the marinated tofu fillets into the batter, then gently press the nori strips onto the surface of the tofu fillets.
  9. Fry the tofu fillets in the hot oil for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove the fillets from the pan and drain on paper towels. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
