- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Dumpling wrappers - 20 pieces
- Water - as needed for sealing
Steps
- Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture, then crumble it into a bowl.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté the minced garlic and grated ginger for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped shiitake mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until they soften.
- Mix the sautéed mushrooms with the crumbled tofu, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place a dumpling wrapper in the palm of your hand and add about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges to seal tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Carefully add the dumplings and cook for 8-10 minutes until they float and are cooked through.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
