- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 125 milliliters
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 2 grams
- Ground pork - 100 grams
- Shiitake mushrooms (dried) - 20 grams
- Cabbage (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Carrot (finely grated) - 30 grams
- Ginger (minced) - 5 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 5 grams
- Soy sauce - 15 milliliters
- Sesame oil - 5 milliliters
- Green onions (finely chopped) - 10 grams
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until you form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms in warm water for about 20 minutes, then drain and finely chop them.
- In a bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped mushrooms, cabbage, grated carrot, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions until well combined.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Gather the edges of the dough and pinch them together to seal the bun.
- Place the buns on a piece of parchment paper and let them rest for another 10 minutes.
- Steam the buns in a steamer basket over boiling water for 15 minutes. Serve hot.
