- Warm water - 100 ml
- Active dry yeast - 5 grams
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 2 grams
- Ground pork - 150 grams
- Chopped cabbage - 50 grams
- Chopped green onions - 30 grams
- Minced ginger - 5 grams
- Soy sauce - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 5 ml
- White pepper - 1 gram
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until you have a smooth dough, about 10 minutes.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper until well combined.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle.
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, then fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal tightly.
- Prepare a steamer and line it with parchment paper. Place the buns in the steamer, leaving space between them.
- Steam the buns over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
