Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 100 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 5 grams
  • Salt - 2 grams
  • Ground pork - 150 grams
  • Chopped cabbage - 50 grams
  • Chopped green onions - 30 grams
  • Minced ginger - 5 grams
  • Soy sauce - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • White pepper - 1 gram

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until you have a smooth dough, about 10 minutes.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper until well combined.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle.
  6. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, then fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal tightly.
  7. Prepare a steamer and line it with parchment paper. Place the buns in the steamer, leaving space between them.
  8. Steam the buns over boiling water for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
