Ingredients
- Fresh clams - 400 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Chili paste - 1 teaspoon
- Spring onions - 2, finely chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, gluten-free soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, spring onions, cilantro, lemon juice, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well to create the marinade.
- Add the cleaned clams to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- Drizzle olive oil over the grill grates to prevent sticking. Using tongs, place the marinated clams on the grill.
- Grill the clams for about 5-7 minutes, or until they open up. Discard any clams that remain closed after cooking.
- Remove the clams from the grill, and drizzle with any leftover marinade. Serve hot, garnished with extra chopped cilantro and spring onions.
