Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 60ml
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (fresh, grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Green onions (sliced) - for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Mix well to create the teriyaki sauce.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth, then add it to the teriyaki sauce mixture. Stir to combine and set aside.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Flip the salmon fillets and pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over them. Reduce heat to low and let the salmon simmer in the sauce for another 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Drizzle extra teriyaki sauce from the skillet over the top.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
