Ingredients
- Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 60ml
- Honey - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Ginger (fresh, grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
- Green onions (sliced) - for garnish
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Mix well to create the teriyaki sauce.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth, then add it to the teriyaki sauce mixture. Stir to combine and set aside.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Flip the salmon fillets and pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over them. Reduce heat to low and let the salmon simmer in the sauce for another 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Drizzle extra teriyaki sauce from the skillet over the top.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
