- Ginger - 1 tsp, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 tsp
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp (for garnish)
- Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp (for grilling)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the teriyaki marinade.
- Clean the portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems.
- Place the mushrooms in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and brush it with vegetable oil.
- Remove the mushrooms from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and place them on the grill.
- Grill the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes on each side, basting occasionally with the remaining marinade until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
