Ingredients

  • Lamb chops - 4 pieces (about 400g)
  • Soy sauce - 60ml
  • Mirin - 30ml
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon (15g)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the teriyaki marinade.
  2. Add the lamb chops to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the lamb chops from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
  5. Grill the lamb chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, basting with the reserved marinade during the last few minutes of cooking.
  6. Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
