Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Firm tofu - 150 grams
  • Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Bell pepper - 1/2, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Vegan cheese - 100 grams
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Press the firm tofu to remove excess water, then cut into small cubes.
  3. In a pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add Szechuan peppercorns, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the cubed tofu to the pan along with soy sauce and chili paste. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until tofu is crispy and well-coated. Remove from heat.
  5. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Spread the sautéed tofu mixture evenly over the pizza base.
  7. Top with sliced bell peppers, red onion, and mushrooms. Sprinkle vegan cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.
  9. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro before slicing.
