- Pizza dough - 200 grams
- Firm tofu - 150 grams
- Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Chili paste - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Bell pepper - 1/2, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Vegan cheese - 100 grams
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Press the firm tofu to remove excess water, then cut into small cubes.
- In a pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add Szechuan peppercorns, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the cubed tofu to the pan along with soy sauce and chili paste. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until tofu is crispy and well-coated. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the sautéed tofu mixture evenly over the pizza base.
- Top with sliced bell peppers, red onion, and mushrooms. Sprinkle vegan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro before slicing.
