  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Chili oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned

Steps

  1. Start by draining the silken tofu and patting it dry with a paper towel. Cut it into 1-inch cubes and place them in a serving dish.
  2. In a small pan, toast the Szechuan peppercorns over low heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and crush lightly.
  3. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, chili oil, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  4. Pour the sauce over the tofu cubes, sprinkle with crushed Szechuan peppercorns, and gently toss to coat.
  5. Top the dish with chopped green onions, cilantro, and julienned cucumber for added freshness.
  6. Let the tofu marinate for about 5 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve cold or at room temperature.
