Ingredients

  • Chicken wings - 500 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Szechuan peppercorns - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken wings, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Toss well to coat evenly.
  3. Spread the wings out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are not touching.
  4. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.
  5. While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce by heating chili oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add Szechuan peppercorns to the hot oil and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
