Ingredients
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium
- Yellow bell pepper - 1 medium
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium
- Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Wash and core the bell peppers, then cut them into quarters.
- In a small bowl, combine the Szechuan peppercorns, minced garlic, soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Place the pepper quarters into a large bowl and pour the marinade over them. Toss until the peppers are well coated and let marinate for about 10 minutes.
- Place the marinated peppers directly on the grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the peppers are tender and have nice grill marks.
- Once grilled, remove the peppers from the grill and let them cool for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
