Steps
- Press the firm tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm cubes.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
- Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let it sit for 10 minutes, occasionally stirring to ensure even coating.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the marinated tofu cubes, reserving the marinade for later.
- Cook the tofu for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown on all sides.
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and stir gently to coat, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until slightly crispy.
- Pour the reserved marinade over the tofu and simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve warm.
