Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
  • Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess sauce to drip off and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Place the salmon fillets on the grill or skillet, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, brush the salmon with some of the leftover marinade for added flavor.
  7. Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a minute.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving with steamed rice or vegetables.
