Ingredients

  • Ground chicken - 200 grams
  • Gluten-free soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, minced - 1 clove
  • Green onion, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
  • Cucumber, thinly sliced - 50 grams
  • Carrot, grated - 50 grams
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, gluten-free soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, green onion, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Form the mixture into two evenly sized burger patties.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden color.
  5. While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce wraps by washing and drying the lettuce leaves.
  6. Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
  7. To assemble the burgers, place a chicken patty on each lettuce leaf and top with sliced cucumber, grated carrot, and chopped cilantro. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
