  • Coconut milk - 100 ml
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or almonds) - 2 tablespoons

  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Peel and dice the sweet potato into small cubes.
  2. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
  3. In a pot, combine the soaked rice and 500 ml of water, then bring to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Once boiling, add the diced sweet potato and a pinch of salt, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. After 20 minutes, check if the rice and sweet potato are tender. If not, continue cooking for a few more minutes until soft.
