Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Baking powder - 5 grams
  • Salt - 2 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Sweet potato - 200 grams (cooked and mashed)
  • Carrot - 50 grams (finely chopped)
  • Green onion - 30 grams (finely chopped)
  • Soy sauce - 10 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • Ginger - 5 grams (minced)
  • Garlic - 2 grams (minced)
  • Black pepper - 1 gram

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water and knead the mixture until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine the cooked and mashed sweet potato, chopped carrot, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, minced garlic, and black pepper. Mix well to create the filling.
  3. Divide the rested dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about 10 cm in diameter.
  4. Place a spoonful of the sweet potato filling in the center of each dough circle. Gather the edges of the dough and pinch to seal the filling inside, forming a bun.
  5. Prepare a steamer and bring water to a boil. Place the buns in the steamer, leaving space between them. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes until they are cooked through.
  6. Remove from the steamer and serve warm, either plain or with a dipping sauce of your choice.
