Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 100 grams
- Water - 250 ml
- Dried osmanthus flowers - 2 teaspoons
- Coconut sugar - 30 grams
- Coconut milk - 100 ml
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
- After soaking, drain the rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth or parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, bring 250 ml of water to a boil. Add the dried osmanthus flowers and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the flavor.
- Pour the infused osmanthus water over the rice in the steamer and sprinkle the coconut sugar and a pinch of salt on top.
- Cover the steamer and steam the rice for about 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is translucent and fully cooked.
- Once cooked, transfer the rice to a mixing bowl and let it cool slightly. Stir in the coconut milk until well combined.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, garnished with a few extra osmanthus flowers if desired.
