Ingredients
- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Rice vinegar - 30 ml
- Honey - 30 grams
- Ketchup - 60 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Red bell pepper - 1, diced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 150 ml
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Oil - for frying
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ketchup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of salt and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the pork ribs in a large dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated ribs and sear them on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the seared ribs to a baking dish and pour the remaining marinade over them. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- While the ribs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the water and cornstarch, stirring until dissolved. Add the remaining marinade from the baking dish and bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and uncover them. Brush the thickened sauce over the ribs and return to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with diced red bell pepper and chopped green onions before serving.
