Ingredients
- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300g
- Garlic powder - 1 tsp
- Onion powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Coconut aminos - 2 tbsp
- Rice vinegar - 1 tbsp
- Swerve sweetener - 1 tbsp
- Ginger (fresh, grated) - 1 tsp
- Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large
- Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 1/2 medium
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish) - a handful
- Sesame oil - 1 tsp
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into 2 burger patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the sweet and sour sauce by combining coconut aminos, rice vinegar, Swerve sweetener, and grated ginger in a small bowl. Mix well until the sweetener is dissolved.
- Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the skillet and drizzle the sweet and sour sauce over each patty, allowing it to soak in for a minute.
- To assemble, take a lettuce leaf and place a burger patty inside. Top with cucumber slices and garnish with fresh cilantro.
- Wrap the lettuce around the burger and serve immediately.
