Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 300g
  • Garlic powder - 1 tsp
  • Onion powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut aminos - 2 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Swerve sweetener - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger (fresh, grated) - 1 tsp
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large
  • Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 1/2 medium
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish) - a handful
  • Sesame oil - 1 tsp

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into 2 burger patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the sweet and sour sauce by combining coconut aminos, rice vinegar, Swerve sweetener, and grated ginger in a small bowl. Mix well until the sweetener is dissolved.
  4. Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the skillet and drizzle the sweet and sour sauce over each patty, allowing it to soak in for a minute.
  5. To assemble, take a lettuce leaf and place a burger patty inside. Top with cucumber slices and garnish with fresh cilantro.
  6. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and serve immediately.
