Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Salt - 3 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Ground chicken - 150 grams
  • Green onions - 30 grams, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 10 grams, grated
  • Soy sauce - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • Black pepper - 1 gram
  • Vegetable oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix ground chicken, green onions, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  4. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle.
  5. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal tightly.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the stuffed buns seam-side down and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden.
  7. Add a splash of water to the pan and cover immediately to steam the buns for an additional 5-6 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and continue to fry for another 2 minutes until the water has evaporated and the buns are crispy.
