- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Yellow bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cornstarch - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, for garnish
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Add the cubed tofu to the marinade, toss gently, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated tofu to the skillet and stir-fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed, then add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender yet crisp.
- Return the tofu to the skillet, adding any remaining marinade, and stir everything together for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
