Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 200 grams
  • Broccoli florets - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 10 minutes, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch, black pepper, and a pinch of salt until evenly coated.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the tofu from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  6. Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  7. If desired, sprinkle with red chili flakes for a bit of heat. Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions.
