Ingredients

  • Octopus (cleaned) - 300 grams
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Yellow bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch, minced
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Lime - 1, juiced

Steps

  1. Boil a pot of water and add the cleaned octopus. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  5. Add the cooked octopus to the skillet and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and season with black pepper and red chili flakes if desired. Stir well to combine.
  7. Add the chopped spring onions and stir-fry for an additional minute.
  8. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
