  • Chinese broccoli (Gai lan) - 150 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted

Steps

  1. Rinse the bok choy and Chinese broccoli under cold water, then chop them into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat the sesame oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped bok choy and Chinese broccoli to the pan, stirring frequently for about 4-5 minutes until the greens are vibrant and slightly tender.
  5. Pour the soy sauce over the greens, sprinkle with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper, and continue to stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, transfer to a serving dish, and garnish with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
