Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice - 200 grams
  • Pork shoulder, minced - 150 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 250 milliliters

Steps

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. In a bowl, mix the minced pork with soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, white pepper, and salt. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Drain the soaked rice and spread it evenly on a heatproof plate or in a steaming basket.
  4. Place the marinated pork on top of the rice, then sprinkle the chopped green onions over the pork.
  5. Fill a steamer or a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place the plate with rice and pork into the steamer, cover, and steam for 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the pork is cooked through.
  6. Once done, drizzle sesame oil over the dish before serving. Serve hot and enjoy!
