Ingredients
- Live lobster - 2 (approximately 500-600g each)
- Garlic - 6 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, julienned
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cooking wine - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water.
- While the water is boiling, prepare the lobster by rinsing it under cold water. Use a sharp knife to cut the lobster in half lengthwise, removing the stomach and any impurities.
- Once the water is boiling, place a steaming rack in the pot and arrange the lobster halves, shell side down, on the rack.
- In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cooking wine, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
- Pour half of the marinade over the lobster halves evenly, ensuring the garlic and ginger are well distributed.
- Cover the pot and steam the lobster for about 15-20 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through.
- After steaming, remove the lobster from the pot and drizzle the remaining marinade over the top. Garnish with chopped spring onions.
- Serve immediately, enjoying the flavorful and aromatic steamed lobster.
