Steps
- Clean the crab thoroughly under running water, removing any gills and ensuring it's free from sand.
- In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil and place a steamer basket over it.
- Arrange the cleaned crab in the steamer basket, shell side down, and sprinkle salt over it.
- Distribute the sliced ginger and minced garlic evenly over the crab.
- Cover the pot and steam the crab for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crabs turn bright orange and are cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and sesame oil together.
- Once the crab is cooked, remove it from the steamer and drizzle the soy sauce mixture over the crab.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and fresh coriander before serving.
