  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece, grated
  • Soy sauce (low-sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red chili (optional) - 1, sliced
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 1 liter

Steps

  1. Clean the fresh crab thoroughly under running water, removing any impurities.
  2. In a bowl, mix the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, red chili, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
  3. Coat the crab with the marinade, ensuring it's well-covered, and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Prepare a steamer pot by bringing 1 liter of water to a boil.
  5. Place the marinated crab in the steamer basket, cover, and steam for 15-20 minutes or until the crab is fully cooked and bright orange.
  6. Once cooked, carefully remove the crab from the steamer and serve hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
